Overview

Jet Fighters puts players in the cockpit of a high-speed, dynamic aircraft and challenges them to climb a tech tree, starting with basic, older airframes and progressing to far more advanced models. The game features over 20 types of jet, including the F-16 Falcon, F-22 Raptor, F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 Super Hornet. We built the experience in Unity, from the flight handling and combat controls to the mission and progression systems.

The challenge

Making flight feel fast, readable and rewarding

A combat flight game lives or dies on feel. Controls had to make a fast aircraft easy to navigate while leaving room for skilful play, combat needed to stay readable in the heat of a dogfight, and progression had to give players a reason to keep climbing the tech tree. All of this had to run smoothly on a wide range of mobile devices.

Our approach

Research first, then build

We started with the core loop: how an aircraft handles, how players fire and track targets, and what makes unlocking the next jet feel earned. From there we built the systems in Unity around that loop, layering in real-world maps, on-screen controls for firing rockets and steering, a radar for spotting enemies, and a detailed mission result screen to close every sortie. Each jet was given its own performance profile so the tech tree carries genuine weight.
